Geocache Description:

35mm Micro - remember to bring your own pencil!

Mega Scotland 2014

Many years ago Millport Town Council decided to attempt to capitalize on a naturally occurring mineral spring on the road to the top of the island known as ‘The Inner Circle’ by creating a seating area and providing a cup so that weary walkers could refresh themselves while enjoying the bracing air. The water was reputed to have therapeutic properties, and the well was opened by June Lady Inverclyde in 1928.

Unfortunately all that remains is the stonework – the benches and the cup are long gone and the water must be running elsewhere. You are advised to bring your own water and folding seat if you wish to take a break here!
