Update: 9/6/2011 updated cache. It is now just a little over 10km to the final. This will be a 10km walk in one direction.
You will have to leave the trail to retrieve each stage. Very little bushwacking is involved and the furthest from the trail is about 100'.
All stages are very near but not on the Katy Trail. Permission has been granted by the land owners to place these caches. In this area the Katy Trail is fairly flat and easy walking. Due to the distance (approx 10km one way), I've rated the terrain a 5. Stages 1 & 2 hold only coordinates for the caches following them. Extreme weather conditions, rain or snow, can make the trail difficult to use. Remember it is 9 miles back to the start.
