Ghost of the Bexhill West Railway:2 Red Ant Bridge Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Bhanacharaid: Sadly, the bypass construction work for these caches makes access more difficult and it's no longer the peaceful and beautiful walk that it once was. It's the end of an era.

I now spend most of the year abroad and therefore cannot regularly maintain my Bexhill caches. Therefore, I'm archiving all but the seafront caches which my daughter can easily maintain on my behalf.
Hopefully, new caches will spring to life in their place. [8D]

Geocache Description:

A 35mm film pot placed in a purpose-built location! You will just see the green lid - wedged in! - so don't try to remove the pot, just take off the lid and retrieve the log. DON'T PUSH THE LOG IN ANY FURTHER - OR THE LID WON'T GO ON! CLUE.

The first of 3 bridges on this route, with a further footpath running below. At the GZ my sandals filled with red ants - so stamp a lot and don't hang about!

In it's early years the principal trains that ran between Bexhill and Charing Cross were Schools Class 4-4-0 locomotives, such as this. These locos were withdrawn at the beginning of the Second World War and were never reinstated.

SADLY, THE BEXHILL BYPASS IS NOW BEING BUILT THROUGH THIS AREA SO UNSURE OF THE FUTURE OF THIS TRAIL. ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN.
