Annual Friday before the event social!


Join us for coin sharing, story swapping and just plain fun! This annual social gathering has always been a favorite for attendees of the Cacher's Campout, and is sure to be a good time again this year. Bring you chairs (picnic tables provided), food if you want to roast on the fire, and beverages for yourselves. For those that wish, grab some friends, or make new ones, and head out for some night caching! Social starts at 6:30 pm, and goes till the last woman/man leaves (or 11pm if you're not staying overnight in the park) Some of the best stories from our annual P.C.C. have come from this informal gathering of cachers! We will provide things to make S'mores with. Bring extra roasting sticks if you have them, we have a limited amount.
This will go on rain or shine (moonshine). Weather permitting we will have a fire ring (Area 50.5) to sit around, if it rains we can move over to the Wilson shelter and roast by the fireplace.

Friday, September 23
6pm: Dunes Pavilion Sunset History Tour- get a head start on the event cache by joining others for this fascinating behind the scenes tour at the main beach pavilion. Tour will end on the roof top for an amazing sunset.

Saturday, September 24
9:30am: Registration begins at Base Camp.
10:30am: Event Cache Kickoff: Meet at the base camp for a short presentation and handout of this year's "Public Lands Day" Event Cache. Gather all the clues you need to solve this multi-stage history challenge. There will be no afternoon activities planned to allow folks to complete this year’s event. A special giveaway will end this year's challenge at dinner time.
5:45pm: Group Photo: Please arrive on time!
6pm: Potluck Dinner: As in the past, please bring a dish, no dish assignments... we've never had a problem.
6:45pm: Raffle Drawings: including the event cache prize!
7:15pm: Night Caching!

Sunday, September 25
9:30am: Sunday Cacher's Campout CITO. Join us for another year of fun and comraderie as we give back to the park this morning. Bring gloves, rakes, and weed whackers if you have them.
