Smaller vehicles may head to the right after crossing railroad tracks to the cache location. Larger vehicles may want to park at the parking lot and hike the .12 mile in. Be careful to avoid sinkhole next to concrete pad. You are looking for a hanging pill bottle taped in black.
Part of my station location series along the old SP&S Railroad now merged into the BNSF Railroad system. Cache is located near concrete slabs from the old Paterson town site. Paterson was moved to its current location when the John Day Pool was formed around 1970. "Paterson, which is named after pioneer settler, Henry Paterson, was a significant shipping point" on the old SP&S Railroad. Grain, livestock and fruit were shipped from this location. (SP&S RAILWAY, Ed Austin & Tom Dill, Pacific Fast Mail)
