Geocache Description:

Mare and Foal Park Also known as Elizabeth Park is located next to the Scone train station
The Cache is a small plastic jar 65mm X 55mm X 55mm
There is room for small trades and trackables .
Please log any thoughts and suggestions

Situated on the New England Highway Scone is
2 hrs north of Newcastle, 1 ½ hours south of Tamworth
Scone, known as the ‘Horse Capital of Australia’, is surrounded by horse studs and National Parks

The Mare and Foal Sculpture was an idea conceived by a local grazier in 1979 to signify the importance of horses in the area. Scone has over 65 horse studs in the region and is largely responsible for providing quality horses for both the racing and stock industries nationwide, with the Mare and Foal statue erected in 1982 to commemorate the area’s best known industry.
