Questa cache si chiama Monte Faeta II perchè è la seconda piazzata quassù; la precedente MOUNT FAETA-PISA OVERLOOK di GlobalScout è archiviata ormai dal lontano 2008, ma la bellezza del luogo merita di essere evidenziata, quindi ecco una nuova occasione per fare una visita !!!
Dalla vetta del Monte Faeta (831m) si può godere di uno dei più bei panorami sulla vallata sottostante: in una bella giornata si può seguire il corso serpeggiante dell'Arno e vedere fino alla costa e alle isole. Per arrivare in zona consigliamo di andare a Calci e prendere la strada del Monte Serra.
All'incrocio alle coordinate N 43°44.186 E 010°32.946 (WP1, che potrete anche usare come parcheggio per raggiungere le nostre vicine cache MONTE SERRA IL FARO e LA CROCE) svoltate a sinistra e salite fino a trovare un'altro incrocio con una piazzola, qui prendete a sinistra verso Santallago.
Consigliamo di parcheggiare nella spianata di Santallago (WP2), tra l'altro attrezzata con bar e ristorante e meta per gite e picnic (tenere presente che la domenica si paga l'ingresso); da qui proseguire a piedi prendendo il sentiero che scende verso Campo di Croce (WP3).
Campo di Croce (612m di altitudine) si può raggiungere da molti altri sentieri, tutti però più lunghi e percorribili solo a piedi o in mountain bike. Da Campo di Croce si prende il sentiero 00 (segnato in bianco e rosso) che sale fino in vetta al Faeta. Il percorso totale Santallago-Campo di Croce-Faeta è circa 4 km, percorribile tranquillamente in un'oretta.
OK, ora siete in cima al Faeta...godetevi il panorama e cercate la cache !! Buon divertimento !!

This cache is called Monte Faeta II because it's the second there; the first cache, MOUNT FAETA-PISA OVERLOOK by GlobalScout was archived from 2008, but the place is beautiful and merit to be visited, so there is a new occasion to make a walk there !!!
From the top of Monte Faeta (831m) you can have one on the best panoramic view on the valley below: in a sunny day you can see Pisa, Livorno, and have a view to the coast and the islands. To go there we suggest to start from Calci and take a road to Monte Serra. At the crossroad at N 43°44.186 E 010°32.946 (WP1, you can use this like parking point to reach our near caches MONTE SERRA IL FARO and LA CROCE) turn left and go up until you find another crossroad with a parkplace, here you must turn left follow the sign to Santallago.
We suggest to park the car in Santallago (WP2), a grass area with bar and restaurant and picnic point (on Sunday you have to pay to enter); from here you can go by foot following the path going down to Campo di Croce (WP3).
Campo di Croce (612m high) can be reached from other paths, but they are longer and can be made only by foot or mountain bike. From Campo di Croce you must follow path 00 (red-white signal) that climb up directly on the top of Faeta. The lenght of the walk Santallago-Campo di Croce-Faeta is about 4km, and can be made in an hour.
