Geocache Description:

Hi Cachers,
Port Beach cache is small but large enough to hold a log but no pencil. Not much room for anything else though. Please ensure that the cache is replaced as found - it can be a bit fragile as bits come apart. You'll know what I mean when you find it. Good luck.

Port Beach extends from the northern side of the port facilities and gently curves to the north for 1.2 km to a point north of Salt restaurant where it joins Leighton Beach - there is no marked definition, but who would care anyway - it's all one great beach ecosystem.

With a sandy beach and waves that average about 1 m Port Beach is generally safe for swimming year around and it is seasonally popular with surfers, snorklers, wind surfers and kite surfers! ??

This is a popular beach for families with good access and a large car park surrounding a central kiosk and restaurant, and a lifesaving watchtower. For the more adventuresome, a surf break called Sandtracks forms during winter months to the south.

Wear your bathers and bring a towel when you search for this cache. Go for a walk, enjoy the sunset or have a play in the surf. Enjoy this magical place!
