Geocache Description:

My father purchased this island in 1972 and sold most of it to the Cruise Ship company around 1990. We kept five acres and build the house who's driveway you see in front of you. It is OK to walk beyond the signs that say "no passengers past this point" but please do not go past the gate down the driveway. You do not need to go on the driveway to get the cache.

As you look to the East of this cache, you will see a rock wall. It, and many other's like it on this island, were built by slaves in the 1700's. The island was given to a Lord by the Queen of England in the 1600's and it was used for a time as a goat farm. The first building on the island was the ruins you passed when walking up the road. Blackbeard is not really buried there, but the stone foundations are real and 300+ years old.

*** PLEASE DO NOT WALK PAST THE GATE UP TO THE HOUSE! ***

We have re-positioned the cache closer to the Island Club sign. This is our house, so you have our permission to go up to the gate, but not beyond. One of the couples' who bought one of the house's time-shares, has decided to take over the caretakers responsibilities. Please respect the privacy of all the house owners by not going past the gate. If they ask you to leave, please tell them that you have permission from the Ruzics to be there. We will let them know that we have hidden the cache there.
