Meet the New Texas Geocaching Association!
Where: Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center: Hart-Morris Education
Center
When: 9/10/11, 10am – 4pm
The Texas Geocaching Association (TXGA) was formed in January
2003 by Sam Morrow (UsMorrows), Candy Lind (Moosiegirl), and Will
Nienke (9Key). Their vision and efforts have brought us here today;
however, as with any organization, it is time that we revitalize
TXGA. From this point forward, September 10th will be TXGA DAY!
To commemorate this first TXGA DAY, we are wiping the slates
clean and beginning anew.
Events like this one are being held across the state of Texas
and the TXGA is encouraging EVERY TEXAS GEOCACHER to find an event
near you and attend. TXGA Reps are hosting and will provide
everyone with all the information that you will need to renew or
become a member of the Texas Geocaching Association.
Why become a TXGA Member? What does TXGA do for Texas geocaching
and me in particular? Do I get anything by becoming a member? These
are just a few of the questions that will be answered at this
event.
In addition, we will have a computer(s) hooked up to allow you
to join before you leave the event.
Please note, Regular admission is $5.50 for adults, $4.50 for
seniors 65 and older, and $3.50 for children ages 4 through 12.
Pets are not allowed on TFFC grounds. Season passes valid for one
year from the date of purchase are available for $15 for adults,
$12.50 for seniors and $8.00 for children. Season pass holders are
eligible for a 10 percent discount in the gift shop. The Welcome
Center in Athens has coupons for the Texas Freshwater Fisheries
Center.
Place this event on your watchlist for updates as to when we
actually take the new TXGA website online OR you can friend TEXAS
GEOCACHING ASSOCIATION on Facebook to stay up to date.
