Nearby Gillies Hill is a basaltic Crag and Tail formation.
Come here though and give us your Craic and Tale.
Although many trees in here are fallen and broken I found this to be a very calm and peaceful spot.
Set in the peaceful Haggs Wood and after negotiating a barbed wire fence ( don't mention this in the logs please, there isn't a barbed wire attribute ) you will find the final co-ords and then have to cross the Pelstream Burn ( not difficult ) to the cache site.
This burn is or becomes the Pelstream, famous in Battle of Bannockburn legend and theory. It conjoins with the Bannock Burn, then it flows fairly fast, towards the Motorway, where it is culverted.
Previously, it flowed along the southern edge of Weaver Row and Torbrex Road/ St Ninians Road, before passing through the old St Ninians Main Street. There were a few years ago, and there still may be, people who could recall its open banks across that busy old street. It then tumbled down hill into the Braehead area, before curling round and into the Bannockburn,
Footnote :
When I gave the second hint "Under Fallen Tree" it was obvious to which tree this referred. This is not now the case. But you don't need to clamber over any of the recent tree fall. This cache is still out in a relatively open space. I'll post a new spoiler picture too to help in the search.
