Leopoldovský pranier [SK]
Renesancný kamenný stlp slúžil na trestanie previnilcov verejným trestom – „pranierovaním“.
Bol postavený v roku 1678 po udelení výsady mestského súdnictva cisárom Leopoldom I. Zrekonštruovaný bol v roku 1957. Stlp je štvorhranný a na bokoch prehlbený, hore zakoncený kamenným ihlanom. Jeho výška je tri metre.
Pôvodne bol umiestnený na inom mieste, ale v roku 1960 bol premiestnený do mestského parku. Verejné tresty sa vykonávali priviazaním odsúdených na pranier. Tresty sa udelovali za verejné pohoršenie, krádeže, ohováranie, ublíženie a podobne. Najcastejšie sa uskutocnovali v nedelu, v dnoch sviatkov ci jarmoku. Previnilcov súdila Mestská rada, ktorej predsedom bol richtár. Pranier je ako významná pamiatka chránený slovenským pamiatkovým ústavom.

Leopoldov Pillory [EN]
The renaissance stone pillar served as a place of public humiliation and punishment with so called "pilloring".
The pillory was build in the year 1678 after the town had obtained by the emperor Leopold I. the rights of judiciary. Pillory was maintained in the year 1957. The base of the pillory is a four sides stone with hollows, the upper part is ended with stone with the pyramid shape. The whole object is approximately 3 meters high. Originally, the Pillory was placed in the different place, however in 1960 it has been moved into the town park near the church.
The public punishments consisted of tieding the convicted to the pillory and letting the other town inhabitants to spit on him or even beat him with the stick. The punishment had ended by sunset after which the criminal was released. In the most cases the punishments were performed during the sundays, holidays or market days. The criminals were judged by the town council led by town reeve.
