A town that washed out to sea Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

The cache is a 2.5 cup lock and lock filled with sea animals. The terrain is very easy to hike.

Park in the South Cape May Meadows Preserve parking lot. This is where the town of South Cape May washed out to sea in 1945 and again in 1950. Make your way to the Preserve overlook; please stay on the main trails. Some trails may be closed due to nesting birds from time to time. You may meet one of The Nature Conservancy volunteers or the land steward on the beachfront or one of the trails. Take time to say hello; they know so much about what is going on at the Preserve and can point out nesting birds that you may walk right by without seeing. Look for the little piping plovers and you may find this cache.
