Fou ocupat pels remences durant l’última guerra remença i
a explotació forestal.
murs atalussats i revestiments de murs antics.
You get continuing the path that leads to the tower in the swamps
and Llobet. This castle belonged to the Viscounts of Cabrera and
the first news is that 1194 is as a result of an agreement between
Viscount of Cabrera Pons III and King Alfonso I the Chaste. In 1241
was given to the Templars, but returned to Cabrera, 1310 and
resided there Eleanor, wife of Viscount Bernard I. It was occupied
by Remences Remences during the last war and was returned in 1485.
From the sixteenth century no longer find any mention of the castle
in any armed conflict. So we can say that it lost its military
function, to the extent that the property occupied by the castle
passed into the hands of the family Aulet, and was exploited as a
forest. Today the castle is deserted, and apart from cleaning the
vegetation has been done or any action of consolidation with
full-scale excavation. The remains of the castle are a ground force
of about 30 square feet per side. It can detect two building
phases: the first phase of the XII-XIII includes the southeast
tower of 15 meters high and three apartments, townhouses walls,
cistern and the chapel dedicated to St. Iscle and Santa Victoria,
which remains the walls and a semicircular apse. The second phase
dates from the fourteenth century, including the rest of the
towers, walls and floor of atalussats ancient walls. In all around
the castle still retains the moat.
