Explorer Box 2 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: As this cache has been in need of attention for some time, with no update from the CO, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

See Osmotherley from a new angle.

Some exposed boulders on Thimbley Bank which offer an unrivaled view of Osmotherley and just about everything else from Teeside to York.

This cache is placed with the kind permission of Thimbleby Estates. This is a working forest so please obey all signage. There is a drop from the boulders so please supervise children.

This is placed as part of a four part circular walk in Silton Forest. We recommend starting from Over Silton but this cache is accessible from Thimbleby or Black Hambleton. If walking from the previous cache 'Hanging Stone' follow the bridleway to the turning to Thimbleby, then the footpath leading east, making sure you take the turning at the waypoint given below. The footpath is a thin and steep forest path.

The cache is a cliplock box with goodies and a GeoCoin for the FTF. Well Done Micky N Dave & Bikeit for joint FTF!
