California Crossing Geocache Challenge. Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

____Blackbeard: we have reset this cache three times since the first of the year only to have flooding change structure or wash away some part of the cache completely. We have not been able to find or replacate the structures that were there when the cache was placed. Which has changed some what the intent of what we set out to do. So spiney and I have decided to archive this cache and try to find a new location which may have more traffic and/or the structure we need to create what we had intended this to be. Thanks to all who looked and found we greatly enjoyed all your post.

Geocache Description:

This is a timed multi staged cache that should make for a great challenge. Finding the home cache (start/ finish line) will prove to be a challenge in it self. After that there will be several stages in which you will find clues to coordinates for the final prize. Parking can be found at 32.51.991 N 96.55.364 W.

Like the 49'rs that came through this area before, you will be challenged to complete this adventure as quickly as possible. There will be hardships along the way but for the lucky ones there will be GOLD at the end of the trail! You will start out with the given coordinates, which will take you to the home cache. Once you have found the home cache you will be given a new set of coordinates for the 1st of a series of micros, and the first clue to the final mother lode. after entering these new coordinates in your GPS take one of the stop watches provided, re-hide the home cache and start the watch. (For the technically challenged, the directions for operating the stopwatches will be in the home cache.) At each micro you will be given coordinates to the next one plus a partial clue to the coordinates of the final treasure. The last micro will send you back to the home cache where you will remove it from its hiding place and stop your watch. HONOR SYSTEM APPLIES HERE! Please log your time and experience in the logbook. Leave the stopwatch for the next hunter and re-hide the cache. (stop watches are an itegral part of the cache Please do not take them for your keep sake) Put the clues together and enter these in your GPS to locate the nearby prize cache.

This cache is on a trail system used by mountain bikers and hikers alike so feel free to use your bike or go on foot. If on foot beware these trails have heavy bike traffic and not all riders are in the habit of letting hikers know that they are coming through. Please be sure and log your time on the web page log so we know who was the fastest also add weather you were on foot or on a bike. We changed the size of the treasure cache this weekend but it is still in the same location please pay special attention when rehiding it as well as the others. Thanks B & S Treasure cache will be a large ammo can........spiny norman
