Snicklesnackle Strikes Again

The Snicklesnackle struck here! A small dog went sniffing about under a hawthorn bush and was never seen again. The cache is in the area of the 'attack' however the GPS was scared of the snicklesnackle and wouldn't work too well so co-ordinates may be slightly off, you will have to use your caching skills to work out where the Snicklesnackle might have been hiding.
The cache is placed at the end of the old railway that runs across the back of Midddleton on the Wolds. Access is via Station Road and the track goes off opposite Warter Lane, there is NO access via the A164. The track is a nice walk or bike ride(only on a mountain bike) between fields and as you approach the cache it becomes more wooded and overgrown. Shorts and T-shirts are not a good idea for this one as ther are a lot of brambles, nettles, wild roses and hawthorn to grab, scratch and sting you. The cache is a screw top plastic jar containing a logbook and pen and a few small swappable items such as a couple of African fairtrade bracelets, some Peruvian Fairtrade freindship bracelets, keyrings and bag clips etc.
Snicklesnackle.
In many cultures around the world Mythical, man like creatures are found. The Himalayas have the Yeti, North America has the Big Foot and the Chupacabras (Goat sucker), The Yorkshire Wolds is no exception with the Snicklesnackle. It lives in the many small woods dotted around the rolling countryside, travelling by night it hugs the shadowy hedgerows as it slinks from place to place. Rarely seen, it is said to resemble a woodland version of Jack Frost with bark like leathery skin and spindely stick like fingers for snatching its prey. Some say he is dressed in black rags while other reports have him with black feathers to his back. There are very few reports of attacks on humans but since the extinction of wolves and wild boar in these parts, it has been known to take naughty children and small yappy type dogs. If you are ever in the woods alone and all seems too quiet, lookout he could be sneaking up behind you. If you then hear the loud crack of a broken branch just run!
