Small multi around the convent of Dajla. Not far away a wonderful view across the sea.

Im 5. Jh. wurde hier ein Kloster von römischen Mönchen erbaut, in das im 9. Jh. die Benediktiner einzogen. Diese verließen es im 13. Jh. wieder und der Besitz ging an den Bischof von Novigrad, der das Kloster 1273 an eine wohlhabende Familie aus Koper verschenkte. 1860 zogen die Benediktiner wieder in das Kloster. Ihr Besitz wurde 1948 durch ein politischen Gerichtsverfahren enteignet und die Mönche verließen das Kloster für immer. Die Zeit schien still zu stehen ( um 08:33 Uhr ? ). Bis 1989 diente es dann als Armenhaus und Altenheim. Leider verfällt das leerstehende Gebäude immer mehr und von dem einst rieigen Klostergarten sind nur noch Bruchstücke zu sehen.

In the 5th century roman monks build a convent at this place. Between the 9th and 13th century benedictine monks lived here. The new owner, the bishop of Novigrad, gave the convent as a present to a wealthy family from Koper in the year 1273. In 1860 the benedictines get it back and moved into the convent. In 1948 they lost the convent for ever , because of a political court`s procedural. The benedictines had to leave again and the time seemed to stand still ( at 08:33 o`clock ? ). Until 1989 the building had been used as a poorhouse and old people`s house. Since that time the building and also the convent garden becomes more and more a ruin.
