Geocache Description:

Roman Road south from Worcester

Amazing that this right of way has existed for almost 2000 years . From here into town you can trace the alignment along the Bath road to the river by projecting the line of this path north .
The cache is right by the splendid kissing gate recently installed to improve access for dogwalkers and the disabled . However the lane it leads off is narrow with high hedges so take care of traffic often using the lane as a 'rat run' to avoid congestion on the A4440 southern likn road.
Since this cache was placed the footpath has been in decline , the path south across the field is no longer left clear and shows no sign of being trampled by walkers . The kissing gate is now almost part of the hedge and overgrown with brambles and nettles .
Perhaps any maintenance has been shelved in anticipation of the developments planned in the near future and yet those plans include a footbridge over the A4440 which would be a welcome improvement to this walk south from Worcester
