A letterbox
02/18/2019 update
New log inside a second weather proof container. No stamp currently because they keep disappearing. The long list of trackables that are owned by the kinneykrew are not in the cache. We have lost so many of them and keep them inside. IF I am out working and see you there I will bring them out.
This letterbox is obvious. Please do not take the notebook (cache log), the squirrel stamp (cache stamp) or the stamp pad. There are trade items as a regular cache inside.
Finders make an imprint of the letterbox's stamp on their personal log book, and leave an imprint of their personal stamp on the letterbox's logbook. If you don’t have a stamp, just log as you do any other cache.
This box is also listed in letterboxing.org, atlasquest.com, and includes a munzee!
Have fun!!
Feel free to post a/your/group picture with the cache!
PLEASE RESPECT THE NEIGHBORHOOD BY DOING THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 15 MPH
THIS IS PLACED WITH THE OWNERS PERMISSION =-)
Letterbox Hybrid (Geocaching.com)
A letterbox is another form of treasure hunting using clues instead of coordinates. In some cases, however, the owner has made it both a letterbox and a geocache and posted its coordinates on Geocaching.com. If there is a stamp inside a letterbox hybrid, it is not an item intended for trade; the stamp is meant to remain in the box so that visitors can use it to record their visit. To read more about letterboxing, visit the Letterboxing North America web site (visit link)
Letterboxing is an intriguing “treasure hunt” style outdoor activity. Letterboxers hide small, weatherproof boxes in publicly-accessible places and post clues to finding the box online on one of several Web sites. However, clues to finding some of the most highly-sought boxes are passed around by word of mouth. There are about 20,000 letterboxes hidden in North America alone. Individual letterboxes usually contain a log book, an often hand-carved rubber stamp and may contain an ink pad.
