Bones & Stones in Barton Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The cache is hidden in a cemetery in Barton near the United Methodist Church. The oldest part of the bone yard contains graves dating back to the 1700's. Please be respectful while visiting. Only visit during daylight hours. This should be an easy smiley for most cachers!
I explored this small cemetery while on a bike ride one morning. It contains a lot of very old markers but also appears to be currently active.
Take some time to look around. In the oldest section, try to spot the headstone that belongs to JOEL SAWYER "a patriot of 76". Use the information on the stone to see if you can determine his age on his birthday in 1776 (email your answer if you want -but no spoilers please).
The container is plastic and waterproof. It contains a GXProxy trackable coin for the First Finder as well as other swag items for adults and kids. Please be sure to rehide it as you found it and take care to conceal the container.
Congrats to dejesky for the FTF!
