CITO in Irby Quarry, just off Royden Park to help look after, maintain and improve an area which provides many hides for Geocaching on the Wirral.
The CITO Information
The task will be clearing old burnt gorse and any other unwanted scrub at Irby Quarry.
Meet at Irby Quarry (access off Hillbark Road, the barrier will be open on the day)
Sunday 18th September
10.30am - 3.00pm. Stay for as long as you wish either a couple of hours or the full time.
All tools and equipment will be provided including gloves and eye shields.
Please bring enough food and drink for yourselves for the duration of the CITO and wear old work clothes and stout footwear.
When you post your log please can you let me know numbers attending for your profile name, so I can inform the rangers of a rough number before we arrive for the CITO.
I have marked the gate from Hillbark road as best I can with coordinates. If you are approaching the Quarry from this side plesae take care on the main roads around the area.
For those who are new to the area I will be in the Main car park (By the Big Gates) in Royden for 10am for a 10:15am departure to Irby Quarry, feel free to join me walking over if you are not 100% on where to walk to. The walk is a short walk through the woods.
I have posted coordinates below for the parking places avaliable, the coordinates should take you to the main car parks in Royden. There are three/four (if the field is open) avaliable car parks for people to park in.
Thank you to Paul Greenslade and the Wirral Rangers for helping to make this possible.
