You Can't Roller Skate (on an ATM) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OleKim: Despite my best efforts to keep a waterproof geocache here, I have failed miserably. Different containers, different methods ... it mattered not. I give up. I'm archiving this one with the plan to place a new "You Can't Roller Skate" cache in the immediate vicinity in the near future. If you're observant, it's probably not hard to guess where it will be. Thanks to all those who have found this one.

By the way, I've already found a potential location for "You Cant Roller Skate (on an ATM) II." Stay tuned.

Geocache Description:

"You Can't Roller Skate __ _ _______ ____" was a Top 40 hit for Oklahoma singer/songwriter Roger Miller in 1966. If you can complete the lyric, you've got a leg up on solving the theme of this Lawton cache run. All 12 caches are micros or smaller. High muggle factor at most locations, so use extreme stealth.

This was originally conceived to be a single multi-cache, but the more we looked, the more locations we found. I don't know anyone who's got the patience for a 12-part multi-cache, so we did it this way. The series was placed for the enjoyment of the SouthWest Area Geocachers (SWAG) and the Texoma Geocaching Assn. (ToGA) when they gathered for a meeting in Lawton. At this stop, you're looking for an "Okie micro." You're near a busy intersection. Parking is within feet of the cache, but the muggle factor is huge, all day and well into the evening. Trivia: The American Bison was a standard feature on the back of U.S. 5-cent pieces from 1913-1938, hence the term, "buffalo nickel." A variation of that portrait can be found on the $50 American Bison gold bullion coin issued by the U.S. Mint in 2006. The bison made an appearance in 2005 on the rear of the "Westward Journey" commemorative nickels. They are also design elements of the Kansas and North Dakota state quarters. Congratulations to cwby416 for the FTF!
