kberndt: Stopped in to update permission since it had been a long time since we originally obtained it. Procedures for receiving permission to place geocaches on county property have changed. I decided not to open up a can of worms that may effect other cachers and geocaches. This geocache is now archived and the Container will soon be removed. good-bye Big Red V

This just looked like a really good place for a geocache.
The cache is placed with permission on the Steuben County Highway Department property. It is recommended to park along road near coordinates. Please be safe.
The Steuben County Highway Department is responsible for maintenance of all county roads and side ditches within Steuben County. The department’s specific functions include, road resurfacing, snow removal, fleet maintenance, chip and sealing, grading gravel roads, mowing, and sign repair. I really appreciate these folks during the winter when they are keeping our roads safe.
