Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!!! The posted coordinates take you to a small park in the center of the business district where a mural entitled AMERICA’S HOME TOWN can be viewed to get the final coordinates. Suggested parking is at the Panhandle Trail Oakdale Station parking lot. Round trip walking distance for this cache is about 0.3 mile on level terrain (trail and sidewalks).

Hand painted by artist Diane Adams in 2010, the AMERICA's HOME TOWN mural is 14 feet high by 47 feet long. The artwork depicts the industrial heritage and community traditions of Oakdale, PA. that includes the oldest continuously operating business, veterans marching in a parade, a little league baseball game, a fireman with vintage hose cart, a steam locomotive, and an oil derrick. We hope you enjoy AMERICA'S HOME TOWN.

The cache is located at N 40° 23.ABC and W 80° 11.DEF

The mural will provide you with the coordinates for the cache container. To complete the coordinates you need to answer the following questions. The answer to "D" requires some light duty math.

A = The 2nd digit of the number inside the keystone on the front of the steam locomotive.
B = The number on the first baseman's jersey.
C = The 2nd digit in the date near the top of the depicted business.
D = The number of white stars in the America's Home Town banner minus 6.
E = The number of Vets marching in the parade.
F = The number on the fireman's helmet.

Check Sum: A+B+C+D+E+F=24
