MRU (Condor worldwide series) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ROTSIP: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the worldwide Condor series - dedicated to aircrew members spending the days far away from home.

PLEASE PUT IT BACK WITH SOME PRESSURE (and check it sits secure) TO MAKE IT SURVIVE STORMY DAYS!

PLEASE open at a place where no water can enter the capsula. Thanks and happy caching!

This one is a tribute to the beautiful beaches of Mauritius. You can do so many things on this island: Enjoy a sunny day relaxing on the beach, snorkel between the beaches and the reef edge, explore the great underwater world of scuba diving (especially Passe St.Jaques at Le Morne!), make a catamaran trip, go kite surfing at Le Morne or Point d'Esny, visit the market in Port Louis, have a romantic dinner at Domaine Anna near Flic en Flac, hike up Le Pouce close to Port Louis and marvel the great view, ...!

The cache is close to a public parking area with picknick facilities at Pointe Vacoas. It is hidden close to where the (sometimes big) waves break. So you might get wet of spray or even will be required to wade to the location at very high tides. It is best reachable during low tide and on calm days, but more fun and more spectacular at stormy days (like the one was when it was placed!)
I don't recommend doing this one with flip flop sandals. Be careful on the slippery rocks, pay attention to the terrain classification (3 to 4, depending on the weather/tide)!

Condor worldwide series BONUS (for the real globetrotters): Note the number of poles (wooden/non wooden sticks) that are fixed straight or at an angle on the concrete surface. All of them.

As we come here frequently, cache maintenance shouldn't be a problem.
