Geocache Description:

The Union Square Green Market was started in 1976 with only a handful of farmers. It now hosts over 140 farmers during the peak season and is the City’s first, largest and most famous green market. The market is open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00PM, but the cache is accessible any time. While in Union Square, take advantage of the other attractions you will find there including the Statue of Gandhi the Statue of George Washington and a view of the Metronome clock across 14th street from the south east corner of the park. If you get tired or hungry, there’s plenty to eat and drink in any one of the bars and restaurants surrounding the park. If you’re looking for a bigger challenge, head up to Madison Square Park, just a short walk up Broadway and try your luck with GC32JQX “Madison Square Madness.”
