This is a 17th century bridge though it could be earlier. It replaced a 13th century bridge dating from when Bellasis was a village, though only a farm now There are 2 arches, 1 of 40 feet,the smaller one a flood arch of 17 feet. There is a cutwater with a refuge on the west. The central pier is 14 feet wide.
The bridge has been rebuilt several times due to vehicle damage. The approach on the north side is rather steep!! The bridge is Grade 2 listed.
Cache is a small disco cache. Green Lane is a single track road, the cache is at the site of Bellasis Bridge. Do not descend down the bridge in flood water times.(It hasnt flooded here for many many years!) It replaces an earlier cache some of you have already found placed by Mukkin. We didn't find it as it had disappeared. We liked the area and bridge so decided to place a new cache here.
