This is a simple puzzle cache and the location of the posted coordinates is not the location of the cache. These coordinates will take you to the original site of "The Shack" and by answering the questions and solving the puzzle you will find the coordinates which will lead you on a short walk to present location of "The Shack" and ultimately, the cache.

The Shack was built on the Winthrop Farm property in the early 1930’s. In those days, every senior class left a “gift” to the college and in 1930 several organizations on campus helped the seniors build a large 2-story frame “farm house” style building that was soon labeled as “The Shack”. The outside was complete with a large porch and inside was primarily a large rustic recreation room with a second floor balcony running around 3 sides. The ground floor focused on a huge fireplace and a kitchen off of a connecting hall. The upstairs was completed with bunks for overnight camping. The building cost about $3,000 and is still the core of the present-day Shack.

In 1960 the Farm was being remodeled as a recreation area for Winthrop students and the lake was filling in. It was decided to move the shack to the top of the hill just south of the lake. The insides were retained much as they had been but the outsides were updated, the porch was enclosed, a basement area was added and a large deck area was built overlooking the lake.

This cache will take you to both the original and the present site of "The Shack" Solve the puzzle to find the cache.
