Very Easy access. Parking is available off of Spring Street at the Case Mountain Trail head. This is where you would begin a hike on Case Mountain. Takes less than an hour to find. The cache is a metal object with a logbook inside. Case Mountain is a great location for mountain biking, and hiking. You can climb the easy white trail or the more difficult red/pink trail to the summit and have lunch and enjoy the spectacular views of Hartford and surrounding towns. I would strongly recommend a hike to the top if time allows, it only takes about 1 hour to summit and return allowing a little bit of summit time, enjoying the beautiful pavilion at the top that was built by an Eagle Scout of Troop 25 in memory of Harry S. Maidment for his service to the community and Troop 25. The pavilion has since been removed to due to increasing vandalism. Use Caution: Rattlesnakes and Copperheads have been found in increasing numbers on Case Mountain. Use Caution! Stay on all blazed trails to help preserve the habitat and for your own safety. There are also geocaches located along the various trails. New location is NOT handicap accessible. Hints have been removed due to tampering of old cache location and container being removed and NOT RETURNED! Enjoy! Good Luck!
