Geocache Description:

Near a very old cemetery but not in it.
Half mile north of and across the road from the Motherwell homestead.
Cache contains log book and trinkets for trade.

For over 60 years the yard and grand fieldstone house
a half mile south of this location was the home of Mr
W R Motherwell, homesteader, politician, farmer. He was the founder of the Territorial Grain growers Assn which curbed the monolistic practices of the railroads and the line grain companies. That sounds like the present day situation with the federal govt wanting to abolish the Canadian wheat board
Mr Motherwell was the first provincial minister of agriculture and also served as federal minister of agriculture from 1921 to 1930.
His farm home is now a national park.
