Geocache Description:

The cache is placed near the top of Campbell's Mill Road where it enters Whakatiki Forest, a small pine forest within the Akatarawa Forest. The locked gate as pictured is the boundary between the forest and private farmland. Campbell's Mill road continues past the gate into the forest for approx. 400m until it meets the junction of Titi Road and Hydro Road.

This is the preferred entry point to the Akatarawas for mountain bikers undertaking the rather arduous routes via the Pram track to Karapoti, or south to Puketiro road to Battle Hill or Bull Run Road. It is also the recommended entry point to my Akatarawa Confluence and MtWainui Leg Stretch geocaches for those on foot or bicycle. I even cycled up here myself (well, with a little bit of walking) so if I can do it, so can you! Those on quad bikes or motorcycles can access the cache via Perhams road.

An easy find but please bring your own pencil.
