Geocache Description:

Aviation Photo Puzzle

Posted below are photos of nine military aircraft.
As with much of the RAF, non of the types shown are in service (do we have anything in service other than the Typhoon?).
Your task is to identify the aircraft type - generic is good enough. Then find out how many engines powers the aircraft. This is the number you need to find the cache. So if you think picture A had four engines then a=4 and so on.

A B C D E F G H I

This cache is placed to remind visitors of the horrors and tragedies of the Second World War. Many accidents occurred to aircraft from the nearby Harborough airfield killing crews of 7 whilst training in Wellingtons. On the 9th of April returning from it’s mission over Germany, due to fog at it’s home base a Lancaster aircraft was diverted to land at Market Harborough. Possibly due to instrument error, the aircraft crashed into the grounds of Foxton Vicarage killing all the crew. A small memorial to the crew - who were Australian - was created by the people of Foxton.
