Geocache Description:

In honour of our 30th anniversary, we placed 3 caches along the Pinawa Ironwood trail. This is an easily accessible cache which will allow you to enjoy the sights of Pinawa and the Ironwood trail. You will be searching for a small spice container, camoed with black tape. BYOP. FTF is a scratch ticket.

Pinawa is the second youngest town in Manitoba, and was started in 1963 by Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd to house its employees. Pinawa derived its name from the First Nations people who lived in the area prior to the arrival of the explorer La Verendrye. This area was named "pinnowok" or "calm waters". Enjoy the sights and attractions around Pinawa while searching for our caches. Take a quick look around and you will see the Pinawa Beach and Swimming Pool.
