Geocache Description:

Sometimes as Eliza Jane and Boots would walk along the towpath, they would come across little lost treasures. It was never anything important, maybe just a bow off of a ladies hat or a coin that had slipped out of the mule handlers pocket. For there were a lot of mules along the towpath! Eliza would take these treasures home to Grandmother to see if they were any use to her. Certainly a coin always was!

Today she and Boots were picking some wild raspberries that grew along the towpath. She had a bucket with her to fill for Grandmother to make into jam. It would taste so good in the winter. Winter was hard in Gastown when the snows came off of Lake Erie.

It was actually Boots who came across the treasure today. It looked to be an old tin sewing box. Surely someone would miss that! Eliza Jane left a note inside and left it where she found it. She would remember where it was and come back after she had asked Grandmother what she should do.

Please enjoy your visit to Eliza Jane’s towpath, bring a bicycle, bring a friend, bring a picnic, but do not come at night.
