This is perhaps the best view on Highway 108, with a platform for viewing Leavitt Meadows with the West Walker River meandering through it, the spectacular mountains and Leavitt Falls off to your right. It’s difficult to spot the sign for Leavitt Falls Vista if you’re traveling East, as it’s set back from the entrance. There are several picnic tables and a restroom. Keep children and pets close as there are some steep drop-offs.
Cache is a full-size ammo can in a logical if not obvious location, once you get within about 20 feet. There are five one dollar coins to start with: Sacagawea, James Buchanan, Abe Lincoln, James K Polk, and Zachary Taylor, plus a Kennedy half dollar. First to find, please leave at least two or three of the dollars for the next cache finders. Also in the can are: a jumbo hook (like a carabiner), a regular size tire gauge, a mini tire gauge, an erasable ball point pen, a toy Shelby Cobra 427, a toy Jeep Liberty and a plastic egg w/puzzle. Watch for Muggles and be sure to hide the cache well.
Highway 108 is closed all winter, usually after the first big snowstorm.
