Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
These Cache & Dashes are nice easy stops to break up a long journey, giving you a chance to look at vistas and find hidden places missed when driving.
You do not need to go near the road to get the cache.
Remember all normal precautions need to be taken when stopping in a lay-by near a busy road!
Heading North on the A470 this lay-by is the 2nd on the left-hand side just outside of Rhayader.
Heading South on the A470 the lay-by is on the right.
You are looking for a small clip&lock container able to take small swaps and trackables.
Please bring your own pen to sign the logbook.
The old water Hydrant caught our eye here.
The water hydrant is still in use on the water supply from the Caban Coch (Elan Valley) to Rhayader and they use it to flush out the pipes if there have been any repairs or work done on the pipe track. Apparently, it did have a cast iron cover around it but someone reversed into it and damaged it.
