A nice place to stop to break up a long journey, giving you a chance to look at vistas of the Wye and the woods are beautifully covered with Bluebells during May and June.
Please take all necessary precautions, especially with children, while by the river and in the lay-by near a busy main road.
Please keep dogs on a lead at all times due to sheep in the area and with the danger of the road.
Please bring your own pen to sign the log book.
Heading North on the A470 this lay-by is on the left on a sharp left hand bend with a junction for the Gilfach Nature Reserve to the right. So indicate and slow down early.
Heading South on the A470 this lay-by is on the right just before a sharp right hand bend with a junction for the Gilfach Nature Reserve to the left.
This is an ideal stop off point for a picnic when the weather is fine, as there is a beautiful riverside area.
Or wye not make it a longer visit and stay at the nearby advertised holiday cottages.
Please take extra care if you have children when near the river.
Here the Wye Valley Walk crosses the River Wye by way of a narrow foot bridge, giving views up and down stream.
There is also an access point here for canoeists when the river is in spate.
