Murtle Lake is the largest canoe-kayak (only) lake in North
America. From Blue River, drive 24km west to the parking area
within Wells Gray Park, then portage 2.5 km to the launch area. All
caches in the series are accessed by canoe or kayak.
Paddle through the lagoon to Murtle Lake. Two campsites lie along
the beaches at eiether side of the lagoon entrance. Land at the
North Murtle Lagoon campsite and go north along the outhouse
trail.
As you cross a small bridge, look uphill at a rock outcrop.
This cache can also be reached by hiking the portage trail, then
follow the beach trail for another kilometrealong the north sid of
the lagoon.
