Geocache Description:

Solitude, alpine scenery and EPIC in-your-face views of the west side of MSH await you at the Wild Life cache.

The cache is hidden on the Loowit Trail, between the Sheep Canyon and Butte Camp Trails. Best starting points would be either the Blue Lake TH, or Red Rock Pass. There is quite a network of trails around here, the junctions are all well signed, but be sure to have good maps with you. You can do an out and back trip from either TH, but I highly recommend making a loop of it. The old growth forest of Noble firs in Sheep Canyon is stunning(and worthy of another cache).

From the cache site, Loowit towers over you, and you will also see Mt Hood (weather permitting). The nearby forested peaks are Butte Camp Dome and Goat Mountain with Goat Marsh below it.

Part of the novel Wild Life by Molly Gloss (visit link) occurs in this area. I recommend picking it up if you like adventure stories.
