Hello to all of you beach lovers! We will be looking for a few
good geocachers to join us in cleaning up a mile of beach and it's
beach access points on Saturday, October 15, 2011 (This is the
PINELLAS INT'L COASTAL CLEANUP Day!) The posted coordinates are for
the parking lot and meeting spot. This parking lot has meters, but
on the beach access side streets there is free parking. We will
start gathering at 7am near our vehicle for a quick pep talk and
cover CITO safety. We then will divide up in small groups and
clean. Please wear closed toed shoes, remember sunscreen as we will
be in the sun, and remember to bring water (we will have some with
us) to keep hydrated. Dress for the weather! We will have some
Rubber Gloves and Garbage Bags will be provided, if you have trash
grabbers it would probably be a helpful tool to bring with you and
use. The cleanup will last till 10am, and afterwards a day of
caching the area seems like a good idea!
