Geocache Description:

This is the first of a series of caches designed to be completed via boat or canoe, along the River Waveney between Beccles and Geldeston. I hope to continue the series further along the river at a later stage! You are looking for a small bison tube which in this case can be found boat or canoe! Extreme stealth maybe required at busy times hence difficulty!

This cache is now on the Pontoon by the Swimming pool and is now only accessible from the water and by foot! Beccles Lido was originally constructed in 1959 on the site of an older bathing pool. Prior to that swimmers used a fenced off part of the River Waveney in the town. In 2004 Waveney district Council decided they could no longer fund the lido as they wished to open an indoor pool.

Beccles Lido Limited is a community run charitable organisation who bought the Lido from Waveney District Council It was closed throughout 2009 but re-opened in August 2010. In total they have raised over £300,000 through fund raising events, their own Lottery, donations and grants to redevelop the pool and services.

This cache meets the GAGB Urban Placement Guidelines: You are looking for a small bison tube
