Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden around top of the Mt. Kintoki.

Mt. Kintoki is the highest mountain (1212.5m) among the Hakone outer peaks. The peak/ridge divides Kanagawa and Shizuoka prefectures. Many of the Hakone outer peaks are formed by caldera subsidence (see and try GC2604A), but this mountain is individually formed. From the top, you can see big Mt. Fuji on fine days.

We have famous children's hero "Kintaro" legend here. He rode on bear, fight with demons with his ax.

Any of the 3 courses to the top are 4-6 hours roundtrip from/to the access traffic, good for novice to medium climbers. But remember that this mountain had ever been called as Mt. "Inohana" (nose of pig) because around the peak is steep, so prepare enough good shoes. At the top of the mountain, there are two small lodges and you can have small foods.

The terrain 3 is for climbing up to the top; from the hiking road terrain is 1-1.5, don't step into danger area.

Access:
*Kintokiguchi bus stop -(90 min)- peak
*Kintoki shrine bus stop -(90 min)- peak
*Otomeguchi bus stop -(2 hours)- peak
- from Odawara station, 3-4 buses an hour to Sengokuhara information center; 10-40 min walk on paved road to above each bus stop. Direct bus to each bus stop available on Sat/Sun.
- from Gotemba station, buses to above each bus stop are available.

*Daiyuzan station -(bus)- Jozou-dou bus stop -(2 hours)- peak

キャッシュは金時山頂上近辺に隠されています。

金時山は箱根外輪山では最も高い山 (1212.5m) です。頂上や尾根のひとつは神奈川県と静岡県の境界になっています。箱根外輪山の多くは、カルデラ湖の形成と共にできましたが (GC2604Aにも挑戦してみてください)、金時山は独立に形成されたとされています。頂上からは晴れた日には大きな富士山を観ることができます。また有名な『金太郎』伝説の舞台になっているのはこの山です。

3つの主な登山コースのいずれも、4～6時間程度で最寄りの交通アクセスに戻ってくることができるので、初級～中級の日帰り登山に最適です。しかし頂上付近は、かつてこの山が『猪の鼻』とよばれたことでわかるように、急峻になっています。登山靴など十分な装備を心がけてください。頂上には軽食などを供する2つの山小屋があります。

地形3は、頂上までの登山に対するものです。登山道からの地形は1～1.5程度です。危険な斜面などに踏み込まないようにしてください。

・バス停『金時口』付近入り口～(約90分)～頂上
・バス停『金時神社口』付近入り口～(約90分)～頂上
・バス停『乙女口』付近入り口～(約2時間)～頂上
- 小田原駅から『仙石原案内所』まで1時間に3～4本程度のバス、『仙石原案内所』から各バス停まで舗装道路を徒歩10～40分程度。土日は各バス停まで直行バスあり。
- 御殿場駅から各バス停までバスあり。

・大雄山駅～(バス)～『地蔵谷』バス停～(約2時間)～頂上
