Geocache Description:


Dudmaston Walk.

A circular walk starting from Dudmaston Parking GC2NJPC a fungimanforager cache to Hampton Loade and back up Long Covert a Wood Land walk and can be done regardless of opening times of the hall. The walk is approximately 13km long; These caches can be done in conjunction with those placed by Lollybob and Fungimanforager to take advantage of both public rights of way and National Trust permissive paths that surround Dudmaston Hall.

From the Butter Cross take the track it is not a public right of way but will join up with one in a short distance, permission has been granted to walk and place caches by the Farmer Mr Tony Rochelle of Moor House Farm. You are on farmland at times and may encounter cattle and sheep.

At Hampton Loade cross over two gates and follow the narrow road between the cottages to the NT car park.

Caches contain pencil and log only please bring a pen and tweezers for the small ones.

The Butter Cross
In the 17th Century the people of Bridgnorth caught the plague. Alveley farmers sold butter to Bridgnorth to avoid catching the plague they left the butter at the cross. The Bridgnorth people collected it and left their money in bowls of disinfectant
