Geocache Description:

A regular 'ol ammo can, hidden on the shores of Tarbox Pond, just off the trail.

When I was eleven years old, we were hit by Hurricane Bob. I remember distinctly walking outside during the eye of the storm to find an eerie calm! Storms show us both the fragility of civilization as well as the resilience of the woods.

I especially love hiking in the woods after a storm has passed. Nature has a way of continuously renewing itself in the face of even the most extreme weather.

With my regular weekend slate of soccer games cancelled in the face of the storm, what better to do than place a cache in its honor? I placed this cache today, with my umbrella, to encourage exploration of what is likely to be an impressive post-storm woodland display.

This spot also provides a lovely view of Tarbox Pond. After the storm, you might find that there is a tree or two fewer blocking the view...
