Geocache Description:

This was one of a dozen caches set close to the route of the Tinners Way, a Bronze Age trading route of tin and copper. The Tinners Way is a 16 mile track that passes 20 prehistoric and Christian sites tracing as closely as possible the ancient paths along which tin and copper were transported by people, sledges and pack animals from the mineral-rich area of St. Just to the sheltered anchorage of St. Ives bay.

Mên-An-Tol

These standing stones are probably the remains of the entrance to a burial tomb, however there are also theories that they form an ancient calendar. A number of local legends surround these stones, including a piskie guardian who can perform miraculous cures. It is said that passing through the holed stone can do all sorts of things from curing rickets to making women pregnant!

The cache location can get quite busy, so please be discreet when searching and do not attempt to retrieve the cache if you are being watched.

You are looking for a Lock&Lock container.

When hidden the cache contained a logbook and pencil (please leave these items in the cache) and various swaps (all new). If you decide to take something please leave something of equal or higher value. Travel Bugs and Geocoins are not trade items, so if you can help a TB or GC then please feel free to take it and log it without leaving anything. Similarly, simply leaving a TB or GC and nothing else in a cache does not give you the right to take a trade item. Please trade fair and think of future finders.
