Tinners Way 7: Bodrifty

After descending to the cache you will find yourself close to Bodrifty settlement which lies to the north-east. Here you will find the remains of several Iron Age roundhouses. Bronze Age pottery has also been found on the site, which suggests that the settlement may be even older. The early, smaller roundhouses were built with their doors facing south-west, whilst the later, larger roundhouses were built with their doors facing south-east – still facing the sun, but away from the prevailing winds. It is surely no coincidence that this settlement lies so close to the route of the Tinners Way. Due to the acidic soil in this area, little pottery was excavated from the site, but what was recovered can be seen in the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro. To the east of the cache in the copse of trees behind Bodrifty farm is a reconstruction of an Iron Age roundhouse. Both sites are on private land, but are open to the public courtesy of the owners.
You are looking for a 1L Lock&Lock container.
When hidden the cache contained a logbook and pencil (please leave these items in the cache) and various swaps (all new). If you decide to take something please leave something of equal or higher value. Travel Bugs and Geocoins are not trade items, so if you can help a TB or GC then please feel free to take it and log it without leaving anything. Similarly, simply leaving a TB or GC and nothing else in a cache does not give you the right to take a trade item. Please trade fair and think of future finders.
