Cache in Cape Scott Provincial Park.
We came here to explore as our family members have done before. Our Great Grand Parents were part of the early settlers that once lived here. They loved life on the Cape. But the Cape was not an easy place to live and the isolation was too much for many. Slowly they all moved on as a once promised road was never built.
Some remnants of the pioneers are still there to see but most have been taken back by mother nature. We tried to find our grandparents homestead as we knew that Bamboo and Monkey Puzzle trees were planted in their garden but the forest has hidden the path/road in.
After hiking in the 17.4 km with heavy loaded packs we were so overjoyed to see the beach and the Welcome sign, it was amazing!!!
We placed this cache here for future hikers - cachers to welcome them in aswell.
