Högsboholm is a very old farm which is mentioned since the Middle Ages. Up until the 1600s Högsboholm was one of the two landowners in Skallsjö parish. The other major landowner was Öijared. In the early 1600s Floda Säteri was created as a part Högsboholm and later being independent and quickly took over the role of large farm in the parish.
