An easy to find cache not to far from route 85 near the panoramic viewpoint. Be careful when it's wet :-) It would be nice if you post a picture of the bay. Thanks for visiting our cache.
On the east side of Tjörnes peninsula, there is a vantage point which provides a panoramic view of the Öxarfjörður region and out to Melrakkaslétta. Closest is Kelduhverfi district which extends east to the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum, Iceland's second longest river. The lowlands are generally marshy and provide good feeding and breeding grounds for wetland birds. Out by the sea are extensive sandflats, deposits from Jökulsá river. Conditions here are ideal for fish farming and two farms are in operation.
10 years ago we placed this cache on this nice spot. We never thought it would last this long. We thank everyone who visited and who will visit it in the future. We thank those who places new cache books, also do maintenance to keep this cache alive for the next cachers. Therefore, whoever logs only on the day 10 years after posting on August 24, 2021 ... surprise.
